Miami County Commissioners meet every Monday at 9:00 a.m. at the Courthouse 
County Council meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Courthouse 
City Council meets the 1st Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall 
Miami Co. Economic Development Corp. meets the 2
nd Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the Grissom Aeroplex.
Miami Co. Tourism Committee meets the 2nd Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber Office
Miami Co. Chamber of Commerce meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 12 noon at the Community Resource Center


2010 COMMUNITY CALENDAR (January 18th, 2010)

 

January 14th & 28th – Banish the Winter Blah’s Salamonie Reservoir $2/participant, plus supply cast for crafts, per-registration.  For more information, call 260-468-2127.

 

January 16th – Community Shredding Day Sponsored Peak Community Services.  Each Customer will receive the first 25 pounds of shredding for free!  Each additional pound will cost only 14 cents.  Services will be provided at 1416 Woodlawn Avenue, Logansport between 9 am and 11 am.

 

January 30th – Spaghetti Supper at Parkview United Methodist Church 1785 S. St. Rd. 19 just south of Peru on Hwy. 19 form 11 am to 3 pm.  The supper will have baked spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert, and drink.  $7.00 Eat-in or Carry-out sponsored by the Peru-Grissom Kiwanis.

February 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st – “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” an Ole Olsen play at the Depot.  February 18th is Dinner Theatre doors open up 6 pm, Dinner is at 6:30 pm, Show starts at 7:30 pm.  Shows are at 7:30 pm on the 19th, 20th, and 2 pm on the 21st.  February 26th and 27th shows are at 7:30 pm and February 28 show is at 2 pm.

 

February 20th – Eagle Watch Salamonie Reservoir Meet at Interpretive Center, bring sack lunch, and a full tank of gas.  Plan to carpool and share gas expenses.  For more information, call 260-468-2127

March 14th – Circus Round Up at 1 pm at Blair Pointe gymnasium.  Enter through the back door of Blair Pointe from the parking lot.

March 27th – Harvesting Capabilities Chicken Noodle Carry Out from 1 pm to 5 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Pick up located in alley in back of school.  Adults are $6.00 in advance, $7.00 at the door.  Children 5 years to 12 years are $2.50 in advance, $3.00 at the door.  Children 4 years and under are free.  Menu includes: chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread, peach cobbler or applesauce on request for diabetics and cookies for the kids.

April 22nd – 25th – “Play it again, Sam” Ole Olsen play at the Depot.  April 22nd will be Dinner Theatre doors open at 6 pm, Dinner is at 6:30 pm, show start at 7:30 pm.  Shows are at 7:30 pm on April 23rd, 24th, and 2 pm on the April 25th.

November 17th – Downtown Christmas Open House in downtown Peru.  Prizes given to winners.  There will be music up and down the streets with special in the stores and refreshments all over!  Music, fun, food and prizes.  Event starts off with a parade at the Depot starting at 6 pm with Santa on his slight and he will be at the Santa House by 7 pm for picture taking and the shops will be open for “stamping”.  There will be a Christmas Tree and Wreath Auction Located at the museum this night.

 

December 3rd ­- Miami County United Way will be distributing the Christmas tree to the family’s in need.  For more information, call 765-473-4240.

 

December 5th – Main Street Methodist Church will have “Christmas on Main Street”.  This will be a free Christmas program and a free will donation supper.

 

December 11th – Eastern Woodland Woodcarvers Club Christmas Show.  Carry-in and live auction.
