The Miami County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will be a public relations
extension and
goodwill committee dedicated to a greater community. The committee shall concern
itself with
activities to welcome new businesses to our area and to show sincere concern to
existing
businesses and industries. It will also be involved in activities which will
enhance the image of
the Chamber, create solidarity within the Chamber and community and bring about
a greater
appreciation among community citizens of what the Chamber stands for in terms of
goodwill,
civic participation, recognition and appreciation.
Miami County Ambassador Activities:
Business Break: The Business Break is a networking luncheon/event that begins at
12 noon at the
Firehouse Ministries located on the corner of Main and Miami Streets. Members
have an
opportunity to share information, network with other members enjoy a delicious
lunch and
participate in a fun event. The 2011 schedule is April 27th - Administrative
Professional Day,
October 12th - Lunch Make a Deal, December 7th - Holiday Business Break.
Business After Hours: The Business After Hours are held randomly throughout the
year at
various businesses. The Chamber will take care of sending out the invitations,
making personal
invites to Chamber members to increase attendance and greet individuals as they
arrive. The cost
to host a Business After Hours is $150 and refreshments are the responsibility
of the participating
business. This is a great way to get Chamber members inside your door.
Ribbon Cuttings: This is a way to welcome a new business or recognize an
expansion with an
existing business. You need not be a Chamber member for this service. It is just
our way of
showing our community support. The Chamber makes the necessary contacts such as
local
officials and media, plus supply the ribbon and the scissors.
Miami Mike: The Miami Mike is an award that is presented to a Chamber member in
recognition
for making more of Miami County through expansion, considerable improvements
and/or a new
structure.
Mentoring: The ambassadors act as mentors for the Chamber members. They are in
contact with
members and keep them informed on upcoming events and assist when needed.
